How to Improve Your Home Teaching Setup

Teachers have a lot on their plates, with very strict budgetary limits. They are not audio technicians. Each component in this bundle is both affordable and simple to use. Let’s take a closer look at the components of this bundle.

PreSonus AudioBox USB 96 Audio MIDI Interface

The PreSonus AudioBox USB 96 Audio MIDI Interface is at the core of the bundle. This USB 2.0-powered audio interface can be used with almost all recording software. This is the hub that connects all the components in the bundle. It can also connect to live streaming applications such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams for hybrid instruction.

There are two inputs for instrument and mic combos, as well as two balanced 1/4 inch line-level outputs. The device also features a MIDI input/output, a headphone jack that can be adjusted for level and an analog mixer to provide zero-latency monitoring. You can record at 24-bit resolution at 48, 48, 88.2, 96 kHz sampling speeds.

PreSonus AudioBox also has +48V phantom power. This makes it a great companion to the H&A lavalier or the PreSonus M7 mics. It is also rack-mountable to 1/3U if you want to integrate the PreSonus AudioBox in a stationary setup.

H&A Omni Directional Lavalier Microphone (for teachers)

The H&A HA OML-XLR Professional Omnidirectional Lavalier XLR microphone is a compact and discreet electret condenser microphone that’s ideal for teachers working in mixed instructional settings. H&A’s omni-directional polar pickup pattern and low distortion frequency range of the lavalier enable it to pick up sounds from all directions. This gives it a sound signature similar to that found in desk- or stand-mounted microphones.

Easy attachment of ties, pockets, and more can be achieved with the included mini lapelclip. The lightweight CNC aluminum exterior houses a shielded, dynamic mono capsule that helps to reduce clothing noise. The H&Alavalier works well with PreSonus AudioBox, as well as other analog/digital recording devices. Its industry-standard XLR-3pin connector and long 5.9′ cable allow for this. The best part is that the H&A lavalier mic is powered by +48V of phantom energy from the PreSonus AudioBox.

PreSonus Studio Condenser Micphone (for students who attend class in person).

Students who are unable to attend class in person may need to listen to their peers’ questions. An additional microphone is needed for this purpose: The PreSonus M7 Large-Diaphragm Studio Condenser Mic.

PreSonus M7 uses a directional cardioid pattern to pick up sound from the microphone and ignore those coming from other directions. It is a great choice for reducing noises in the classroom. The package includes a mic stand, adapter for mic stands, 10′ XLR cable and a carrying case.

PreSonus 2-Way Studio Monitor Speakers

Although they are small in size (5.6″x6.4″x8.3 ”),), PreSonus Eris Eris E3.5 Active 2-Way Studios Monitor Speakers produce studio-quality sound that will fill most classrooms. It is due to the 25W per side Class AB power amps.

Each speaker is powered with a 3.5″(89mm) Kevlar low frequency transducer and 1″ (25mm), ultra-low mass, silk-dome high-frequency transducer. You will find the power switch, volume control, volume wheel, stereo auxiliary input and integrated stereo headphone amplifier output all located in the front. The back of the unit also contains 1/4″ balanced TRS and RCA inputs.

PreSonus HD7 Studio Monitoring Headphones

Multi-input audio systems such as the PreSonus bundle that can have multiple microphones connected, it is important for each input balance. Studio monitoring headphones such as the PreSonus HD7 can accurately reproduce audio signals without overprocessing and are well-suited for pinpointing potential issues in audio quality.

It features a lightweight, ergonomic design, high-resolution Neodymium drivers and precise-tuned chambers. PreSonus HD7 provides a pleasant and precise listening experience.

PreSonus Package to Hybrid Teach: What Else Do You Need To Know?

PreSonus’ hybrid education bundle allows educators to broadcast their audio to students in person or virtually. H&A’s HA-OML XLR Professional Omni Direction LavalierXLR Microphone acts as the primary input. The PreSonus M7 Large Diaphragm Studio Condenser Microphone acts as the “audience microphone” for students who are attending class in person. Each audio feed can be adjusted independently. Remote learners can hear the teacher’s instructions and answer questions from students in class. All this is possible without any distractions such as extraneous noises or audio inputs from distant participants.
