Edit.Photo is a Simple and Free Web-Based Photo Editor

Edit.Photo, a free browser-based photo editor, claims to offer fast and effective editing capabilities without popups, ads or tracking. It doesn’t even require you to create an account.

One of several Web-Based Photo Platforms by One Company

DPReview reported that Edit.Photo was launched by PQINA. This company designs and builds “performant responsive, and highly polished Web components.” Its website shows that Edit.Photo wasn’t the company’s first product for image editing through a browser. PQUINA also owns the Pintura Image Editor and Crop.Guide. Redact.Photo is available along with FilePond and Flip. Several of these applications share functionality.

Edit.Photo was created using the Javascript Image Editor SDK, also known as pintura. It is also the basis for the Pintura Image Editor. Pintura Image Editor can be purchased by a variety of companies that need an image editor to work with their applications, such as Square, DropBox, Accenture, and Square (all three of which are Pintura customers).

The Edit.Photo Editing Experience

Edit.Photo is a browser-based editor that can be used on desktops and mobile devices. The editor supports pasted URLs, dropped photos, and pasted pictures. These tools are easy to use, yet powerful enough to do basic image editing. They feel similar to many other smartphone apps that offer about the same amount of options and capabilities.

It allows cropping, as well as the addition of frames, notations, frames and resizing. The “Finetune” tool offers a basic level of editing tools, including the ability to adjust brightness and contrast, saturation, temperature, gamma and clarity.

Although Edit.Photo does not offer much, users may find it appealing because there are no tracking or ads. Users can also edit quickly from anywhere else. This allows beginners to learn photo editing without the need to commit to any financial investments.

Edit.Photo can be used on both mobile and web. You will receive updates via Twitter from either PQUINA, Rik Schenninck, regarding any additional features or modifications.
