Canon 6D Mark II Full-Frame DSLR with Expanded Features, SL2 Compact Entry-Level DSLR Announced

Canon has announced today the second-generation of its entry-level DSLRs, both full-frame and with APS-sensors. Each model features significant improvements over its predecessors. The Canon 6D Mark II features improved resolution, wireless connectivity and better autofocusing. It also has a flip-out touchscreen LCD screen monitor and a wider ISO range. Canon SL2 features a touchscreen LCD monitor, improved ISO range, better resolution, and compatibility to ISO and Android mobile devices.

Canon 6D Mark II

The Canon 6D Mark II is a consumer camera. However, it has enough features that professional photographers can use it as a primary or second camera body. The closest competitor to it amongst the currently available Canons is the Canon 5D Mark III. It specs out very similar to the 6D Mark II in many features, but the 6D Mark II has a edge if the user wants a flip-out touchscreen.

The key features
  • 26.2MP 35mm CMOS sensor
  • Optical viewfinder
  • 45-point All Cross Type AF System
  • Dual Pixel CMOS-AF with phase detection
  • Full HD 60p video
  • ISO range 100-40,000.
  • Flip-out touchscreen LCD LCD of 3 inches
  • Built in Wi-Fi, NFC Bluetooth, GPS, and Bluetooth

Canon EOS 6D Mark II has a 26.2 Megapixel full frame CMOS sensor (approx. 35.9mm x 24.0mm, capable of producing high-resolution and detailed photos. The ISO range from 100 to 40,000 can be expanded to ISO 50 or 102,400. The EOS 6D mark II takes images measuring 6240×4160 pixels. This camera has a pixel size 5.67 microns and a high signal-to noise ratio. These images make for great images.

Canon claims that the EOS 6D Mark 2 has a 45-point, all-cross-type AF system. This allows you to accurately track fast subjects throughout the frame. AF can be used in low light as low as EV -3. The AF system has a high-quality bright prism, and an “Intelligent Viewfinder II”, which displays camera settings with a very low chance of glare. This allows you to quickly and easily change settings even in difficult lighting conditions. 5 different AF area selection modes are available on the 6D Mark II, which can be used in a variety of AF situations.

Dual Pixel CMOSAF enables Live View shooting. Dual Pixel CMOSAF delivers fast and precise AF across the entire image plane. It has two photodiodes per pixels that can detect phase-differences in autofocus. This system detects movement shifts at the pixel level. It enables continuous automatic focus and tracking, which enhances overall camera operation. The DIGIC 7 Image Processor allows for quick operation even in low light conditions.

The Canon EOS 6D Mark II, the first full-frame Canon EOS DSLR camera with a Vari-angle Touch Screen 3.0-inch ClearView LCD II Monitor, is a useful feature for videographers. The monitor on the 6D Mark II is touch-sensitive, just like the 5D Mark IV’s. Users can adjust focus, menu, and quick control settings easily with a single touch. You can zoom in or change images by using two-finger gestures. This LCD monitor, 1.04 million dots, is designed to minimize reflections. It has been treated with a smudge resistant coating that makes it bright and clear.

Canon has implemented wireless technology to facilitate workflows in various locations. Compatible with Android devices, the 6D Mark II has Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth connectivity and Bluetooth connectivity. Remote control of the camera via mobile device is possible. Images can also be transferred easily. Canon Connect Station CS100 is compatible with the camera, making it easy for moviemakers and photographers to view all of their images and videos from one device.

Bluetooth pairing allows you to connect your camera with compatible smart devices via the Canon Camera Connect app. Bluetooth uses a low-energy connection and can be set up to automatically connect upon pairing. This helps conserve battery life while maintaining a wireless network.

It also features a built-in GPS that allows content creators to automatically adjust the time and timestamps on their images and tag them with crucial location data. It is compatible with American GPS satellites as well as Russian GLONASS satellites.

To improve the EOS 6D Mark II’s capture performance, it has been improved. The EOS 6D Mark II’s shutter, advanced AF, exposure, and image processing systems virtually eliminate lag time while still offering burst rates up to 6.5 even at full resolution.

Weather-sealed protection helps keep dust and water out of the camera’s card slot cover, battery compartment cover, lens mount cover, terminal covers, and buttons. The lightweight, durable and high-precision aluminum alloy construction combined with polycarbonate resin construction gives the camera confidence to be used in all situations.

The Canon EOS 6D Mark II will arrive at Adorama in a variety of configurations in mid-July.

Pre-orders accepted immediately Until the product ships, credit cards will not be charged.

When it was introduced five years ago, the Canon SL1 was the world’s smallest DSLR. While the SL2 retains its diminutive dimensions, it has a higher resolution of 18 to 24MP. It also offers a wider ISO range and a flip-out LCD monitor, which allows for greater flexibility in shooting videos. The video resolution has been increased to full HD at 60 frames per second.

The key features
  • 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor
  • Dual Pixel CMOS-AF with Phase detection
  • Flip-out touchscreen LCD LCD of 3 inches

This sensor can produce high-resolution images in a variety of lighting conditions. Canon claims that the camera can capture dynamic rich colors, from deep reds to emerald and lush blues to purples. The camera comes with a simple to use box so that non-technical users can just turn it on and be confident in the quality of the images.

Dual Pixel CMOSAF system allows Live View to be viewed in live view with almost no focus wait. Canon claims it has the fastest autofocusing speed in the world at 0.03 seconds. The camera is equipped with phase detection, which can quickly determine the distance of a subject and where the lens should focus. It also offers smooth, precise, and fast autofocus. This works for both video and photos.

The SL2 can now play Full HD movies at 60p resolution. It can also produce incredibly smooth moving pictures for playback or sharing on social media. An external microphone input is available to record higher-quality sound.

DIGIC 7 Image Processor powers the SL2 and produces high quality images in low light. Canon claims that the image processing can keep results sharp and detailed even in low light conditions by using ISO settings at high levels.

The Feature Assistant function allows users to take full advantage of advanced features on the camera and create stunning photos quickly. The Feature Assistant helps you to experiment and create amazing photos by explaining the shooting modes and showing examples of how they work with samples.

The EOS Rebel SL2 has been improved in design and construction. It is lightweight and portable, but it does not compromise on performance.

Adorama will have the Canon EOS Rebel SL2 available in mid-July. The Canon EOS Rebel SL2 will be available as a body only or in combination with the Canon 1855mm f/4-55.6 STM lens. Pre-orders accepted; credit cards won’t be charged until the order is shipped.
